At the beginning of the century there were around four thousand breweries in Belgium.
Domus brewery was opened in September 1985 and is one of the few independent breweries left in Leuven. Most of them closed down or were bought by the giant InBev.
The beer at Domus is not sold in stores or even in bottles. Instead there is a small pipeline that goes from the little brewery straight to their pub, next door, and people can enjoy the beer from the tap.
In the Domus brewery, modern, small scale equipment is used to produce quality and authentic beer. The Con Domus and the Nostra Domus are the only beers that can be sampled the whole year round, while Nen Engel is a seasonal beer.
The food at the pub is cheap and delicious.
