One of two chedis rises adjacent to the top of Doi Inthanon summit. This one here is built for Queen Sirikit. From the King's chedi vantage point, it was significantly the smaller of the two yet elegantly feminine and equally as magnificent. Flowers, topiary plants, and numerous murals surround this particular chedi. A number of tours can be booked in Chiang Mai proper. We booked a day trip through Wayfarers Travel which included an entrance fee, lunch, and a knowledgeable bilingual guide. Added tour bonus: waterfalls, and a close up encounter with a Karen hilltribe whose members wear gold neck rings for aethetic purposes. Enjoy the air around Doi Inthanon, it was quite a relief from the city smog.
