A handmade suit from Dege & Skinner can cost upwards of $4,500. But people have been willing to make that hefty investment for years due to the impeccable quality. Dege & Skinner is a family business that's been operating since 1865 in Savile Row, the home of the world’s finest men’s bespoke tailoring and shirt making. Since 2004, the Savile Row Bespoke Association has protected this area's tailoring traditions. Every Savile Row Bespoke garment has its own individually handmade pattern, cut by a Master Cutter. It is then made under his or her personal supervision to the exacting standards. At Dege & Skinner cutters and tailors spend a minimum of 60 man hours for a two piece suit and around 40 for a bespoke coat. Usually Savile Row has always been a gentleman's domain, but Dege & Skinner also creates sporting and business clothes for ladies. For those who can't make it to Mayfair, Dege & Skinner travels regularly to cities in the US to meet and measure customers.
