Visit "De Waterkant" in The Hague's Westbroek Park
Westbroek Park, open to the public from sunrise to sunset, is the perfect place to relax on a summer's day in The Hague. As pets are not permitted in the park, it is an ideal place to take young children.
"De Waterkant" on the Havenkade (Kapelweg) has long been a favorite with the locals. Enjoy lunch on the lawn or a high tea under a parasol in the shade.
For a small fee, a rowboat may be rented by the hour to quietly pass a sunny afternoon drifting about the park's extensive canal network. Rowboats are a traditional summer activity with the Dutch, so be sure to reserve you boat in advance, if you plan to go boating on a weekend!
Westbroek Park is located close to Madurodam and the beach and all three can be enjoyed in a day's walk around Scheveningen. Tram 9 stops at Nieuwe Duinweg which is steps from the park's main entrance.
