De Gooyer Windmill

5 Funenkade

In Amsterdam’s Eastern Docklands—just down the street from Het Scheepvaartmuseum—sits De Gooyer Windmill, the tallest wooden windmill in the country. The octagonal mill dates from 1725, and it’s one of only a handful of historic windmills that remain in the Amsterdam area. Visitors can’t go inside the windmill itself, but they can enjoy the view—and a beer—from the brewery that sits at its feet, located inside a converted bathhouse.
