Sneffels Range at Sunset
The Ouray/Telluride area of southwest Colorado is one of my all time favorite places in the mountains. Ouray is low key (no slopes here) and Telluride is a bit glitzier, with it's world class skiing and snowboarding, but it still has an authentic feel to it. The drive between the 2 involves going over the Dallas Divide. This is the view. I was fortunate to have a gorgeous sky, autumn colors and the car park all to myself. The cows were grazing in the valley below the majestic peaks. Summer and fall are wonderful times to visit this area of Colorado. I might choose fall - around mid to late September. It's pretty quiet!
