If you're visiting Vancouver and a winter sports enthusiast, Cypress Mountain is just 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver in West Vancouver. There are 53 alpine ski runs, with many of those accessible at night, and 19 km of cross-country trails. Not into skiing or snowboarding? Go tubing with the kids or take a snowshoeing tour.
If this all looks familiar, Cypress Mountain was the host mountain for Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding events for the Winter 2010 Olympics.

City Gazing In Vancouver
Vancouver is a very beautiful city. Nestled between the ocean and and a forested mountain range, few cities of this magnitude can boast about their gorgeous surroundings. An evening of night skiing on Cypress Mountain in North Vancouver had me stunned.
In addition to a good dump of snow and relatively cheap lift tickets, the panorama was something to behold. From the slopes, one can view most of the city, and at night, the entire place comes to life. There are many great things to do in Vancouver, but if you are in the area, take the time to head up one of the local ski hills at night to glimpse the shimmering beauty of this seaside city.
I shot this on the way back down from skiing at one of several overlooks on the winding road that leads up to the ski resort.
One of my favorites places in the world. Skiing just a few minutes from the heart of the city. Was on my way up the mountain but had to go back to hotel to get my gloves -( Spectacular sunrise as well!
