Countryside Public Market

This compact and slightly hard-to-find traditional restaurant is worth the effort it takes to track it down. Hidden inside Makishi Public Market, and with only a couple of tables (plus some seats at the counter), it’s renowned for its soba-noodle dishes, which come with meat or vegetables and delicious clear broths. Tea and water are self-service, and since prices are some of the cheapest around, don’t be surprised if you might need to wait.
