A long way from Melbourne’s ‘Little Italy’, Cicciolina has been offering St Kilda residents some of the cities best Australian-Italian food since 1993 and even awarded one-hat in ‘The Age Good Food Guide 2012’.
Going back to the basics, Cicciolina has taken Mediterranean food and given it a modern twist in the intimate dining atmosphere where the inspiration seems to be part Moulin Rouge, part artist’s studio.
Everything tastes like it’s straight out of Noona’s kitchen, including the portion sizes, with fresh made pasta dishes more than generous and steaks perfectly grilled.
Try the yellow fin tuna Carpaccio with capers and grilled bread or highly recommended crab soufflé.
With a no reservations policy lines tend to be long during the evenings. Avoid them by heading in for the lunch service, starting at midday.
An extensive cocktail and wine list will be at your table, and vegetarian and gluten free dining options are available.
