Chain stores have a reputation for bad coffee, really bad coffee, but things change when you visit Adelaide, South Australia.
If you're looking for a coffee that is guaranteed to satisfy your palate then my pick is to head to your nearest Cibo Espresso, or Cibo as the locals know it.
With branches all over the city - Rundle Mall, Rundle St East, Hutt St, Melbourne St and Pirie St, just to name a few - as well as throughout the suburbs, Cibo does what many other coffee chains fail to do - produce good quality despite having more than 19 stores in Adelaide.
Cibo also offers a selection of sweet and savory Italian foods as well for any time of the day including ever popular brunch. Whilst there are no eggs on toast here there is Brioche uova e pancetta - brioche bread with egg and pancetta - or frutta fresca - fresh fruit salad.
My personal favourite store to visit is the Hutt St branch. If Enrico, the manager, is your barista then chat to him as he makes your coffee - he's Italian and knows just how you'll like it.
The Henley Square (Henley Beach) and King William Road (Unley) are the other branches that won't let you down if you need that caffeine fix.
