Located a few minutes' drive from Québec City is Parc de la Chute-Montmorency. Depending on how much time and energy you have, there are several ways to explore the park.
If you are in the mood for an adventure, I suggest climbing up the steps for some great views. There is also a cable car that takes you to the top of the waterfall, and from there you can walk across a bridge directly over the waterfall. There is also a gourmet restaurant on site if you only have time for a quick bite.
I visited during the summer, so there was nothing but sunshine beating down on the cliffs. However, if you come here during the winter, it’s a completely different story. The water freezes, as do the cliffs next to the falls (a result of the mist from the waterfall) and some people even practice the sport of ice-climbing.
If you don’t have a car, you can rent a bike from the city center, and there is an easy-to-navigate bike trail that takes you here. Alternatively, a train makes a stop at the park.
