Walking along Broadway down the student strip of universities (just past the unmissable brutalist style tower of the University of Technology) lies a hole-in-the-wall Chinese food joint serving the cheapest, tastiest snack: cumin lamb steam buns.
Made on-site, there's a range of flavors to choose from with vegetarian options as well. At $1.50 a bun, they make a great snack or quick lunch option.
If you can linger, they also make noodle soups and congee (rice porridge) that warms a poor student's or traveler's stomach and doesn't drain the wallet.
They are open early and close late so you can get your fill of bunz at all hours.
