Eat off the Beaten Path at Chez Tino
I must confess: I'm a little afraid of langouste. They remind me of alien spiders—and though I know the meat is tender and delicious, it takes a lot of work to remove it from the shell. But Chez Tino offers langouste—and, in fact, all local seafood varieties—straight from the fishing boats outside its doors. And it's worth traveling off the beaten path to see how a local Mauritian chef can turn these little alien monsters into creole dishes that are impossible even for picky eaters to resist.
