In Laos, the colonial past is often channeled into innovative cultural fusions. At Chez Matt, two blocks from 3 Nagas, you can drink a glass of French red while enjoying contemporary works by Asian artists, such as the bold abstracts of Savann Thav, a French-Cambodian painter. Also on the menu: fried green bananas and Beer Lao, the national brew.
