Cheng Hoon Teng Temple

Malaysia's oldest Chinatown was founded more than 200 years ago. On its main road, Jonker Street, the ground floors of early-20th-century shophouses are now restaurants, galleries and shops selling crafts and souvenirs. Pay a visit to Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, Malaysia's oldest traditional Chinese temple, and notice its intricate carved woodwork and vibrant lacquer paintings. On weekends there's a popular night market here, though any time of the day or week there are a number of restaurants and cafés to choose from when you want to take a break from sightseeing.
