Chena Hot Springs Dog Kennel Tour

Experiencing this short dog sled ride was one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska. You can tell the dogs are very happy to do their job and it really is incredible to see the strong bond between the driver and the dogs.

Take a Tour of the Dog Kennel, Make New Friends

We really enjoyed visiting with these incredibly friendly dogs. The attendants that work with them are very knowledgeable and you can tell they really love the dogs. Some of these dogs are even used in the major dog sledding competitions they have across Alaska!

Mushing while waiting for the Northern Lights

My entry for the adventure contest is our trip to Chena Hot Springs one hour outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. During the day we took a mushing adventure through the ice and snow covered forest. At night, we waited in 10 below freezing cold to see the lights. Each night I tried an new trick to keep warm and that was an adventure in itself. Although the lights are not a shoe in when you go, we did see them one night. It is an experience not to be missed, The address above is wrong. Chena Hot Springs is one hour outside of Fairbanks.
