This particularly hot January afternoon we decided to take the regularly scheduled ferry from Jicaro Island Ecolodge into the town of Granada to do some exploring. Without a real plan in mind, we wandered through the central square, inevitably being drawn in by the cathedral's beautiful arches and brightly hued walls. It is worth stopping in to wander the hallways and admire the beautiful architecture of the building, the interior offering a cool respite from the hot midday sun. Our favorite view of the cathedral? Down a nearby side street with a cold beer in hand, looking back across the square at the vibrant yellow building against the clear blue sky.
