Pass the salt please! At Casa Saltshaker in Buenos Aires you'll have a truly unique dining experience that will bring you closer to the locals and travelers. Dining in a puertos cerrado (closed door restaurant) is a social dining experience in Buenos Aires that is becoming popular with the locals and tourists.
Casa Saltshaker is a private kitchen/home restaurant in Buenos Aires run by an expat American, Dan, and his partner Henry. 12 visitors joined Dan and Henry in their home to have a 5 course meal with wine pairing. We all sat at a long communal table and Dan came out of his little apartment kitchen and explained each course to us in great detail.
By the end of the night all of the diners had become friends and shared laughs as well as great food and plenty of wine. Dan provided non-touristy tips for future Buenos Aires dinners and attractions. Give the puertos cerrados a try in Buenos Aires - you won't be disappointed! It's a super way to meet travelers and locals - especially if you are a solo traveler!
