Casa Picasso is my go-to spot for fine dining and special nights out in San Pedro. Owners Adam and Jacqueline Feldman are two of the nicest people I’ve met in Belize. Combine that with Chef Ben’s talents in the kitchen and Nicolai’s mixology skills behind the bar, and you couldn’t ask for a better restaurant for a romantic night out.
Some of my favorite menu items include Rendered Pork Belly, Lobster Sliders (seasonal), Beef Carpaccio, Chocolate and Vanilla Pork Short Ribs, and Lobster Risotto (seasonal). Be sure to save room for dessert as Casa Picasso has a number of options to tempt any sweet tooth, but you can’t ever go wrong with the Banana Wontons.
Casa Picasso has one of the better wine lists on the island, and I never skip out on trying one of Nicolai’s new martini or cocktail concoctions. Casa Picasso is open for dinner only and closed on Sundays and Mondays. Although it’s south of town, Jackie and Adam have arranged complimentary taxi service to and from Casa Picasso. Just let them know that you need one when you are making your reservation.
Look for tasting menus, wine pairing dinners, and some other fun events throughout the year. It’s wise to make a reservation, especially on weekends and peak holiday times.
