took our 1st re-positioning cruise on the Carnival Legend Apri, 2013. this is absolutely, positively the way to cruise. we have been on many cruises but cost-wise and cruise time-wise this was best. the cruise was 16 days leaving from Tampa and going to Barcelona, Spain. the ship stopped at 8 ports, all with ample time for site seeing. the cost of the cruise was about $100 more than a 7 day cruise to the Caribbean .
The Legend's decor is beautiful, the food great, service exceptional, cabin was lovely and a cruise across the Atlantic, well, what can be bad. 16 days are filled with things to do, shows, games, dances, breakfast, lunch and dinner in a beautiful dining room, seminars, and much more .
fellow cruisers who have done this many times, freely give great advice on how to work the system for future cruises. we do almost all our cruises on Carnival ships and like the company and their ships. all except the Valor which on which i did not like the decor at all, but every other ship was terrific.
this was my first trip to Europe and what a way to go. got a good oversight of many European countries on the way to the port in Barcelona and now know where i would like to go back to. we plan on flying to Barcelona and taking the re-po cruise back to Tampa in November. when the ship returns to the US.
this is not recommended for 1st time cruisers, too many days on a ship, but for the experienced, this is the way to go.
i always say: WHATEVER WORKS
