Memorial Day signals the official start of summer, and for many Washingtonians that means backyard cookouts and crab feasts! While a little pricier out of season, crabs are available year-round. The Wharf is where the locals go for great prices on this native fish. Any given Saturday afternoon during the summer, the Wharf is bustling, with locals waiting for their bushel of large male crabs to get steamed and loaded with Old Bay seasoning, a side of hush puppies, and a large "half and half"—or what others might call an Arnold Palmer (lemonade and iced tea).
