I think Italy is one of the most magical places in the world. When I was in Capri I was lucky enough to stay at a small luxury hotel called the Palace, which is just steps from the village of Anacapri. The Palace is the epitome of laidback elegance. Its restaurant, il Riccio, has bright blue wooden tables that overlook the sea. It feels casual but the seafood is so well prepared and so fresh that it was awarded a Michelin star. Some of the rooms are named after movie stars, such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Marilyn Monroe. Julia Roberts doesn’t have a room named after her yet, but she did stay in the room I was booked in just the week before I arrived. It was a highlight of my trip. —Sir Russell Coutts
