Art is a year-round festival in Santa Fe. In the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Canyon Road has over 100 galleries and artists’ studios open daily; on 4th Fridays, galleries are open from 5-7 pm and welcome visitors with refreshments. If all that art and beauty makes you hungry, Canyon Road is also home to some of Santa Fe's best restaurants—where great food and presentation is an art form, too. At the famous Compound Restaurant, for instance, the historic interiors were designed by Alexander Girard, whose collection became the Santa Fe's Museum of International Folk Art and at the Tea House, the art of tea is celebrated through their own signature blends. At El Farol, Santa Fe’s oldest restaurant, tapas are paired with flamenco shows and live music.
