Anyone can, at the gorgeous lakes of the Lake Louise area in British Columbia, Canada. A trip to Jasper and Banff brought us to the Icefields Parkway and numerous canoe rental opportunities. Canoe on Emerald Lake (a color you have never seen before) Lake Louise (backdrop of spectacular scenery) or as photogrpahed here, on Moraine Lake (less accessible than Louise but even more stunning) one side has a cliff wall rising from the lake and the other a lovely lakeside path. The nearby lodge offers food and drink for regular folks (the Lake Louise Lodge is quite a bit more chi-chi and pricey) - book hotels well in advance during high season of summer- things get really hopping around these parts when the days are long. Another "don't miss" activity is the Bow Parkway drive - pretty much gauranteed wildlife by the road (elk and bears) and again the jaw dropping scenery!
