Sample creative variations on regional specialties at Los Rastrojos Restaurant
In the Ribera del Duero wine region in Spain, lechazo, or milk-fed lamb is a traditional dish served in many restaurants. Morcilla from Aranda, a blood sausage traditionally prepared with rice and cumin is also very typical.
Fortunately for foodies, many area restaurants, like Los Rastrojos, continue to prepare traditional dishes while adding new variations on the classics to their menus, like the example pictured, morcilla wrapped in seaweed, and morcilla fried in wonton wrappers, both served with spicy red pepper sauce.
Getting there: Los Rastrojos is a bit difficult to find, located along Carretera Peñaranda between Burgos and Aranda del Duero--it doesn't resemble a restaurant from the outside, the main building is somewhat hidden from view behind a large gate and garden area.
