On the weekend of my arrival in Lille, I serendipitously bumped into Caféine Coffee – serendipitous because I subsequently had my first truly good cappuccino, and because without much effort I’d found a café that is open on Sundays (unfortunately an anomaly).
Caféine’s ambiance and aesthetic are on-point; clean, modern, and hip, this café draws Lille’s young and best-dressed…and anyone with a penchant for excellent coffee. Their beans come from OR Roasters, which churns out the very best coffee in all of Ghent, according to one of their locals. The quality of their drinks is unmistakable – a cappuccino from this place could very well change the way you think about coffee from here on out. And of course, what would any fine establishment be without the food? Caféine offers a selection of muffins and viennoiseries for when you just want a bite, and truly awesome sandwiches for when you’re looking for a real lunch (or early dinner).
Allez-y, go get that mind-altering cappuccino!
