During my year living in Soho, I went to my fair share of coffee houses but it was Cafe Borgia on Prince Street that first caught my eye. Prince Street is notoriously crowded but luckily, the cafe lies just beyond the crowded boutiques.
Walking West along Prince Street to Thompson Street is a huge change. Once you hit West Broadway, the worst is over and by worst I mean you've escaped from the crowds and entered a much quieter version of SoHo.
Cafe Borgia hasn't changed much over time. On any given day I'll pop by and see the regular NYU student reading or a European couple eating breakfast in in the corner. There's an effortless charm about this place, which is why I find myself returning every few months.
The easiest way to get to Cafe Borgia is via the subway. Take the C or E train at Spring Street or the B,D,F or M to Broadway-Lafayette. If you visit in the Spring or Summer try to snag a table overlooking the street for some serious people watching.
