Take a Spiritual Break at Buckfast Abbey
Meander the gardens, explore the interior of the cathedral, follow the footpaths to the greenhouse and sculpture gardens, and just sit and contemplate life. The site of this relatively new Abbey structure has has been home to the Benedictine Monks for more than 1000 years. There's also a giftshop, bookstore, and monastic shop, where you can buy products originating from monasteries and convents throughout the world, many of which are made by the monks and nuns themselves. Besides tonic wine and fudge from Buckfast, there are icons, bronze and religious art, soaps and cosmetics, jams, preserves and cordials, beer, wine and liqueurs, biscuits, Agen prunes & fresh almonds from the South of France.
