Coconut porter & more at Breckenridge's Broken Compass
When you first walk into Breckenridge's newest brewery, you'll first notice the chairlifts (from Breckenridge Ski Resort's old Colorado chair) serving as seating. Next, your eyes will float over the modern details in the woodwork -- locally-sourced beetle kill wood -- and perhaps you'll catch the old haul rope (also from the Colorado chair) used in the tap handles and bar footrest.
The visual experience is a comfortable mix of old and modern, and Broken Compass just gets better when it comes to taste. The brewery opened with six brews on tap (created mostly by John Ford, pictured). For now, a flight will get you the Coconut Porter, Belgian Wit, Chili Pepper Pale, IPA, India Brown Ale, and Collaboration Saison. Any (or several) will do you fine.
