Boston Harbor Cruises - Whale Watching

Hornbill, the Humbpack
On Saturday, we got up and tried unsuccessfully to have breakfast at the Paramount in Beacon Hill and the North Street Grille in the North End. Guess that’s what happens when you try to brunch at peak-I-just-woke-up-from-a-hard-night-of-drinking-and-need-eggs-hours. We ended up at a little place called…Panera Bread Company. Maybe you’ve heard of it? We had a looming noon departure from Long Pier on a whale watch through Boston Harbor Cruises and needed some food and caffeine stat. The whale watching was cool. We cruised out for about an hour before we met our friend Hornbill, a Humpback Whale. Well, we mostly just saw his tail. And what a nice tail he has. We were both pretty seasick at this point, so to settle our stomachs, we indulged in the hardest soft pretzel I’ve ever eaten, purchased from the boat snack counter. It was equal parts nasty and delicious. Sometimes tasteless calories are just what you need.
