A stunning white sand beach just a five-minute drive east of Port Antonio, with the only waves in Jamaica high enough to surf, Boston Bay is one of the few remaining public stretches on the island. It continues to attract more locals than tourists, and is almost vendor-free. You’re likely to spot kids splashing about on their boards, and you can pick up your own on site for a surfing 101 lesson (US$25). There are also days when the weather surprises and the waters are flat. Next door, just a one minute walk over are the famous Boston Bay jerk stands. What more could one ask for?

Surf on Boston Bay Beach
A beautiful small cove with golden sand, Boston Bay is the only beach in Jamaica with waves high enough to surf. Not to mention, it’s adjacent to the famous Boston Bay jerk stands that serve up the best jerk cuisine (and jerk sauce) on the island. Can you say ideal location? Grab your quarter chicken or pork to go and walk over to the beach where you can enjoy your meal and try to catch a wave.
