Your kids have already gone out of their comfort zone a little with Mauritian cuisine. They've tried new curries, dim sum, and other items from street vendors. But when you tell them it's time to try a true Mauritian delicacy, caca pigeon—or pigeon droppings—they balk.
But once you get inside Bombay Sweets, they aren't quite as disgusted. The wide variety of mithai, or Indian sweets, is awful tempting. And, wouldn't you know it, suddenly they are all too happy to try a little caca pigeon to get their hands on some other sweets as a reward.
