On my travels through Slovenia I think few accommodations impressed me as much as the Bohinj Park Eco Hotel. Luxurious facilities, ecological projects and service that could put other hotels to shame. What impressed me most is that the hotel has managed to employ 60% of the local community. Something unimaginable for a country in recession. The hotel is not perfect. They must solve issues of light pollution, incorporate more local foods and find better water management, but hopefully these issues will be resolved with time. In the mean while ask the chef to prepare you a dish of local cheese, honey and a class of Slovenian wine and felt into euphoria one bite at a time!
