Dixon has at least two claims to fame: 1) It's the boyhood home of Ronald Reagan, and 2) It's the site of Bloody Gulch Road.

If you're curious about the name -- and who isn't? -- local lore suggests that a farmhand killed a traveling Bible salesman back in the 1800s. The farmhand then buried the body by an underpass, where rain eventually washed away the soil and exposed the remains . . . and made things difficult for local real-estate agents for the next century.
