Eyjafjörður Bird-Watching
Eyjafjörður is a birder’s paradise, home to more than 30 species of birds. According to a count in 2003 by local wildlife officials, among the species found here are arctic terns, black-headed gulls, herring gulls, lesser black-backed gulls, mew gulls, black-tailed godwits, northern pintail ducks and greylag geese. Of course there are no guaranteed sightings, but if you keep your eyes peeled and your binoculars ready, you may get lucky.
