The coast of California is a lovely place to get lost. There is something magic about exploring the edge of earth where the land meets the water...and for whatever reason massive boulders usually end up calling out to me to be climbed. Perhaps it's the quiet possibility that from that loftier stance I can catch a glimpse of something otherwise unseen. Or it's that opportunity to revel in the small stature of our human size when teetering on that small ledge, surrounded by masses of water, forests, rocks and sand. Sometimes it's good to feel small in this great big world.
