Chow Down at the Smokehouse
Big Horn's Smokehouse is like an introductory lesson to Mountain West barbecue – forget what you've learned about brisket and ribs and steak in places like Texas and Louisiana; this is meat the way it was meant to be cooked. I've been up and down the menu, and sampled everything from the buffalo chicken sandwich to the classic chili to the brisket, but I always return for the ribs – a quarter rack, usually, because I can't handle an entire brontosaurus on my own. These are the best ribs I've had anywhere in my life, in one of the coziest restaurants in Sheridan County. Tackle a full rack the next time you're in town, if only to extend your stay at the Smokehouse.
