Alabama Summers and a Fun Way to Beat the Heat
Alabamians know their summers are hot and humid, but by no stretch does that mean that they necessarily love the boiling weather. One of the favorite ways they beat the heat in Rocket City is the charming little Bicentennial Park. Surrounded by sculptures, a columned pavilion in which to seek shade, and lined with magnolia trees, with fountains coming right up out of the ground for kids (and kids at heart) to frolic around and stay cool.
