A Masterpiece of Blooms
Part of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens are 14 acres of lush and organically maintained grounds in the pristine, posh and historic neighborhood of River Oaks. The land includes the historic home of one of Houston’s former civic leaders and philanthropists, Ima Hogg, and the gardens were designed with the intention of being outdoor "rooms" for both living and entertaining. Ms. Hogg is credited with bringing azaleas to Houston, and the gardens (which are open to the public, and the only organic ones in town) are brimming with these pink blooms during the spring.
