Safe Encounters with Polar Bears
While the beauty and curiosity of polar bears can make them appear friendly, it’s essential for Arctic travelers to stay a safe distance and explore with an experienced expedition team. The best way to observe the bears and other wildlife is from the deck of an expedition ship or aboard a Zodiac, using binoculars—or better yet, a zoom lens. It’s likely you’ll take some of the best photos of your life on a trip to the Arctic—and having a trained photographic instructor alongside you certainly won’t hurt. All Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic Arctic journeys are accompanied by photo experts, including a National Geographic photographer, to help you capture your experience.
