Reached along a narrow alley in Palma’s old town, the ‘arab baths’ are a rare survival of medieval arabic architecture in the heart of the city. The monument, dating from the tenth century, is a single room with a domed roof held up by statuesque columns. This primitive bathhouse with its time-worn brickwork is one of Palma’s most spine-tingling secrets.
