Bandidas Taqueria is the sort of place that you don't really find elsewhere in Canada - a Mexican taqueria that only serves vegetarian and vegan dishes.
They also only use reusable containers, work with a small local composting company to reduce waste, furnish the place with recycled furniture, and even encourage you to bring your own cup. The only way this place could be more of a Vancouver stereotype is if they had Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson running their organic juice bar.
So is the food any good? Well I don't look for vegetarian options often, but if you do, then this is a very solid option. The tortilla soup is fresh, spicy and tasty. As a non- vegan I found the menu choices far better here than one of Vancouver's best known veggie restaurants, "The Naam".
I might have missed the carnitas on my tacos, but if you are looking for a meat free breakfast or brunch, this is a very solid choice. Expect a wait on weekends.
