When I traveled to Ireland in 2007 I had the opportunity to play golf at one of the country’s—and the world’s—most historic courses, the Old Course at Ballybunion. The links, set among rolling dunes along the coast of County Kerry, are legendarily beautiful and also challenging… but my rusty golf game was clearly not up to snuff, and the golf gods let me know it right away. My first tee shot sliced to the right, and dropped right among the stones of the famous Killehenny graveyard… I was too spooked to retrieve it!—Andrew Tedesco
