Meats Smoked In-House and Beer Made Down the Street
Aviator Brewing Company started off in an airplane hanger, the beer living next to an airplane built by the owner/brewer himself. Now, years later, Aviator has taken over the town of Fuquay-Varina with a tap-house and restaurant. The restaurant, aptly named Aviator SmokeHouse, sits across the street from the tap-house and fills the street and downtown with the smell of delicious smoked meats.
Located about 30 minutes out of Raleigh, Aviator SmokeHouse is well worth the visit. All of the usual North Carolina-style meat suspects are on the menu, including brisket, pulled and chopped pork and ribs. However, the real star of this establishment are the chicken wings. Pit smoked and fried to order, they are loaded with juicy, smoky flavor. These will easily be some of the best wings you'll ever have the pleasure of consuming. If the other meats are more your style, you can get them as part of a meal consisting of two sides OR a beer. Yes, you can get one of the many great Aviator brews as your side dish if you wish.
