When in France, you should eat nothing but baguettes, cheese, and crêpes, right? Wrong. You should eat the incredible Chinese and Vietnamese food at Au Lotus Bleu. The wonderful Sintes family owns the restaurant, and I got to know them pretty well because I stopped in every (and I mean every) Tuesday and Thursday for chicken curry and to talk a bit in (questionable) French. The father, who also sells soap at one of the markets, spotted me a huge market crowd one morning and called me over to chat, and during my last week in France the family invited me in for a special meal of their family’s traditional curry recipe – they certainly know how to show their customer appreciation! Besides making incredible food that is worth coming back for again and again, the Sintes are fantastic and gracious hosts that make Au Lotus Bleu a must-stop.
If you do stop in, be sure to tell them the American girl sent you for the curry…I promise you they’ll know who you’re talking about!
