Manouche Restaurant, Beirut, Lebanon
"This casual place is named for a dish of the same name. Manouche is a flatbread, a bit like a pizza. It can have tomato and red pepper paste, chard, sorrel, za’atar  [Middle Eastern spice mix], and feta cheese. For Beirutis, eating the dish is a very popular way to start the day." —Kamal Mouzawak Around the corner from Tawlét (Sector 79, 12 Naher St., Chalhoub Building #22). This story appeared in the March/April 2011 issue.
