I visited the ruins of this ancient Greek fortress during summer, but I think the best time is autumn or spring when the temperatures at the Black Sea are better for a walking tour.
Still, it was a very interesting experience. Only in ruins, located on the tallest point of the Romanian Black Sea Coast, the ancient fortress of Argamum was founded by Greek colonists in the 7th century BC. It was later conquered by the Romans, and over the centuries it protected the commercial ships that stopped in the nearby gulf.
The ruins are located in the village of Jurilovca, a popular departure point for boat rides to the island Gura Portitei.
