Cais do Sodré is becoming the neighborhood of the moment, with many coffee shops, bars, and more opening doors and bringing life to its streets. Arco da Velha is one of those coffee shops that opened recently and you can’t miss it. The window display shows a table and chairs set like an invitation for you to enter.
Arco da Velha has vintage décor, with an impressive counter, full of drawers, that used to be a haberdashery cabinet. Above it, there is a beautiful stone arch. On the counter are the homemade cakes that you can accompany with a tea. But if you have other preferences, you can choose from coffee, hot chocolate, alcoholic drinks (like the famous ginjinha), and more.
It is just like going to the past to have a cup of tea, with old sofas, vintage paintings, and tables that have doilies.
