Archaeological Museum and Historic Castle of San Antón
Jutting out into the bay, this sturdy castillo has protected the city—as a fortress, as a prison and as an isolation ward for sick sailors—since the 16th century. Now a designated national monument, the castle is home to the impressive Archaeological Museum, with artifacts dating back to prehistory. Notable items include examples of the Galician metalwork tradition that drew Julius Caesar to visit the region.
