The antique market in Pissignano is held every 1st Sunday of the month when it is not raining. I never would have thought to include a trip to an antiques market in a vacation to Italy, but we were invited to join some friends, and now it will be something we look for wherever we travel. On a sunny day, there are few things more leisurely and fun than to wander stall to stall and see old Italian teapots, coffee grinders, farm tools, furniture, and cooking implements. It's practically like a museum of Italian objects, but with the possibility of bringing home a real souvenir. I bought a ravioli cutter for a few euros, as well as lovely tea towels, comic books staring a cowboy in the American west, a scarf, and a set of vintage aperitivi glasses. Priceless object brought home for (practically) a song.
